Project budgets

Keep an eye on scope. Before the budget is gone.

Compare the work you planned with the work your team has recorded. See the budget used and the amount remaining, then look at the tasks behind the total.

  • Set project budgets in hours or fees.
  • See billable and non-billable effort separately.
  • Review progress across projects or open one for the details.

An hours budget measures tracked time. A fee budget measures the billable value of that time.

Team capacity

Have a better conversation about workload.

A total number of hours only tells part of the story. Compare each person’s tracked week with their working capacity, and see how much of that time is billable.

  • Set a weekly capacity for each teammate.
  • Review billable and non-billable hours together.
  • Use a dedicated report for contractor hours and value.

Detailed time reports

Every total has a story. See the entries behind it.

Start with a summary by client, project, task, or person. Open the detailed report when you need the dates, notes, and individual hours that explain it.

  • Choose a week, month, quarter, or custom date range.
  • Filter by client, project, task, teammate, and project status.
  • Keep the original work in view when reviewing a number.

And when it’s time to bill?

The uninvoiced report groups unbilled hours, expenses, and amounts by client and project. Use it to review outstanding work before preparing your next invoice.

A few useful answers

Know what you’re looking at.

What does billable value mean?

Billable value is calculated from tracked billable time and the applicable billing rates. It shows the value of the work recorded; invoice and payment records show what has been billed or paid.

Can I change how a report is grouped?

Yes. The time report can be grouped by client, project, task, or teammate. You can open detailed time and filter the entries to focus on the work you want to review.

How is team capacity calculated?

Each teammate has a weekly working capacity. Their recorded billable and non-billable hours are compared with that capacity, so you can review the week in context.

What is included in the uninvoiced report?

It brings together uninvoiced hours, billable expenses, and their amounts by client and project. You can narrow the report to active projects or projects with a remaining uninvoiced balance.
